Sr. IT Security Consultant

Client focused practice seeks a Senior IT Security Consultant to join a well-established and highly regarded IT audit and information security consulting team in performing comprehensive risk based client engagements. This position will be focused on serving our clients in the areas of technical security assessments and IT security compliance. Successful applicants will be engaged across multiple consulting projects and will participate in service delivery with a focus on making a positive impact on our clients’ operations and risk management practices.  

The Senior IT Security Consultant typically works under the general supervision of a Manager or Practice Leader.

Location: St. Louis, MO

 Responsibilities include:

  • Execution of technical penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
  • Perform technical reviews of information security controls and systems.
  • Perform information security program and compliance assessment audits.
  • Composition of executive and technical level engagement reports.
  • Maintain and develop an information security lab used for research and testing.
  • Development of written responses to proposals and client communications.
  • Be committed to full time with some overtime expected, based upon business needs.
  • Be willing and able to travel up to 15-20%, both domestically and internationally.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree (Security or IT emphasis preferred).
  • At least 2 years of technical IT security experience in an offensive or defensive role.
  • At least 5 years of technical IT experience at the network, system, and application levels.
  • Conceptual knowledge of security fundamental and best practices.
  • Experience with independent project management and organization skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a consulting environment and as a team member.

Desired Skills:

  • Professional designations (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, QSA).
  • Technical certifications (e.g. GIAC Certifications, CEH, OSCP).
  • Highly proficient in Linux command line administration and security tool usage.
  • Knowledge of vulnerabilities and the exploitation of Microsoft Windows networks.
  • Familiar with application development life cycle and common programming languages.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations targeted to senior management.
